All of our pediatric dental specialists have spent extra training to better understand the relationship between your child's oral health and their body. Our holistic approach prioritizes the treatment of dental issues with solutions that are in harmony with the needs of the rest of their body. We believe that it is important to ensure that the care we provide does not put your child at risk of further health issues. We accomplish this goal by offering diverse procedures to provide the best dental care for your child. At every stage of treatment, you can rest assured that we are considering your child's overall health for the best possible outcome.
We like to see your child on a regular basis for a check-up and cleaning (every 4-6-months). During a typical visit with our pediatric dentist, we do a thorough exam to assess the health of your child's teeth, gums, and mouth. We may take x-rays to check for cavities, clean and polish their teeth, and apply fluoride for cavity prevention. Before you leave, we will discuss and reinforce proper oral hygiene practice at home.
Typically, small cavities, or cavities on your child's front teeth, are fixed with a white composite filling, and big cavities on your child's back teeth and molars can be restored with stainless steel crowns. Crowns are used for larger cavities, or in those at high-risk for cavities, to help protect teeth from further issues. We use stainless steel crowns for teeth in the back, and white zirconia crowns for teeth in the front. We recommend good oral hygiene and dietary practices to prevent the need for dental fillings or crowns.
Children can be anxious, or lack the attention span or the ability to cooperate to get treatment done without sedation. To help make you and your child more comfortable at our office, we are proud to offer dental sedation as an alternative when needed.
Sealants are a protective coating placed on the grooves of teeth (typically molars that have deep grooves) to help prevent cavities. The sealant blocks food particles from getting trapped in pits and grooves of your child's teeth. The procedure is an elective preventive procedure that is both simple and non-invasive.
Baby teeth serve many important roles before they fall out, and one of their jobs is to hold the space for adult teeth. When a baby tooth is lost early, we may need an appliance or “spacer” to ensure there will be enough room for your child's adult teeth to properly erupt.
Dental trauma is common in children as they are more likely to fall and hit their mouth and head than adults. This is especially true in children who are active and take risks. We understand that accidents happen, and when they do, we are here to help. If your child has a dental emergency or dental trauma, call us as soon as possible. We will fit your child into our schedule as soon as possible, and are happy to go above and beyond to take care of children in need.

Regarding insurance, we accept most major dental insurance plans including Medicaid and Denali KidCare. We are also in-network with many insurance plans. As a courtesy to all of our patients, we take care of the claim filing and processing, and will do our best to help you understand your insurance benefits.
